Clinical Biography

Sarah grew up in Sussex and moved to University of Bath to study BSc Sport and exercise science degree, graduating in 2003. During her time studying Sarah was a member of the Great Britain Modern Pentathlon team, winning team medals at European and World championships and achieving 6th place individually at European championships. Sarah continued training full-time with the GB team for 5 years after finishing her degree course before injury caused her to bow out.

With a passion for sport and a diverse knowledge of 5 different sports and training ideas, Sarah trained as a Personal trainer and sports massage therapist qualifying in 2007. She then had the opportunity to gain experience working with the strength and conditioning English Institute of Sport team at the university helping the swimming and netball athletes.

Sarah continued her education attending an effective movement training course, self-myofasial release course, and various equipment based courses to learn correct technique for kettlebells, boxing, assisted strap training, vipr, to find effective ways of training. Having worked with many clients Sarah understands that nutrition and mindset are also vital aspects to achieving great results. Thought field therapy (TFT) is a course Sarah has recently done for the mindset techniques as well as drawing knowledge from her sports psychology used at international sport. She is also currently studying for a Precision Nutrition course.

Sarah has been working as a personal trainer for 7 years building up a successful business in the Bath area. She works closely with Rob and Sacha with shared clients helping them back to full fitness after injury. Having done a course in pre and post natal exercise, Sarah will be starting up some semi-private sessions at Active Health for women pre/post natal looking to restore pelvic floor and core health. This is an area Sarah feels is not very well managed for women having worked with lots of women, and important issues are not talked about enough – So watch this space for information on classes.

Personal Statement

I trained as a Personal Trainer as I am passionate about helping people get results they are looking for, be it a weight loss goal, fitness goal, or helping them create a healthy lifestyle. There is so much conflicting information out there about weight loss and fitness, so my aim is to provide you with the right information by providing a bespoke fitness service tailored to the individual’s needs.

Exercising should be interesting, fun and effective. I have trained in the most effective exercise tools out there to give clients the best experience and results. If you enjoy exercise it is more likely to become part of your lifestyle and you can take control of your life. It is all about finding work works for you. I love to exercise, be it in the gym, outside running or biking, taking the dog for a walk. I don’t have one of those stories where I was over weight as a child.  I was doing every sport going at school, then swimming or running at weekends.  I want my enthusiasm for exercise to rub off on you, so you can achieve those health and fitness goals you have always wanted.

I still like to challenge myself so I now compete in adventure racing and mountain bike events in my spare time.  I entered a toughmudder event last September, which is a run with lots of ridiculous obstacles in your way to slow you down! My next big challenge will probably be cycling Land’s End to John O’Groats next year.
